Music helps...

Technical Drawings

Its been pretty slow going working on the technical drawings.  Had a mare with the hatching on CAD looks awful - thinking drawing by hand has a lot going for it.

A tip if you want  a b/w pdf  of your cad design and are working on coloured layers
 go to File
page set up manager and select modify
opens up a dialogue box top left corner plot style table you can choose either monochrome or greyscale press ok

Paper vs Machine

Working on both from paper to cad at the moment, updating my main a1 with a3 supplements taped over my A1 scanned in with a scale. think the simpler route is to do by hand then you have something tangible and less problematic.

Seating

Difficulty in finding really nice seating that one can relax in - might try a hammock!  Though contemplating a deckchair on a similar system to supermarket trollies or perhaps Boris' bikes...

business cards & headed paper

I got the inspiration for the business card while I was working out the contours and scaling of my site.  I wanted to produce a card that would be associated with Landscape Architecture.

First hand drawn, then Autocad with curves before settling on the more angular style, rendered in photoshop for landscape elements, sky water and land. Then annotated it in inDesign and submitted it on PDF.

Dutch Engineering close to home

Fairview Park, Dublin. Built on reclaimed land designed by Dutch Engineers circa 1930s.  In October 2011  Dublin experienced extreme flooding due to combination of  high tides and a months rainfall in one day.

Part Deux

So I am  now into my 2nd Term and its been tough going so far. So taking a deep breath before I embark on the course commitments,  I took time out and went to West 8 Event at Greenwich Uni.  I wondered around in the unlit campus  looking for the entrance to King William Court.  Can we get some Landscape Architects on to this please....
